Atauro is a mountainous island, with the highest being Mount Manukoko, there is a walking trail that leads to the top of this peak. We can arrange a local guide to take you up the mountain which is not for the faint hearted.

 

You can also walk to the western side of Atauro - Adara bay where you can snorkel and relax on the beach, this is an easier walk but still takes some time.

 

Due to the potentially hazardous nature of walks on the island, guests are asked to leave their names, contact details and planned route with Barry or his staff before embarking on adventurous hiking expeditions. Hikers trekking to Mount Manukoko must be accompanied by a local guide.
